Welcome to Phrasalogistics!
This site was originally created years ago, after another commercial wherein the marketing department decided to make up their own word to describe something more easily. The words I noticed them using, were similar to words already in the dictionary, but they decided to create a new one to show off how ‘badass’ they are compared to us normal plebeians who try to use the English language as it stands without major modifications for the sake of our marketing department.
Phrasalogistics is comparatively different than other sites found on the web, because of how the words are found or created. You won’t find words like LOLCats in the dictionary, since LOL is an abbreviation and combining it with cats doesn’t really create a word. What you WILL find on this site are words ranging from company names to those ridiculous words you and your friends made up on the spot while out drinking.
To get into the more technical side of things, the site contains a large amount of portmanteau words that can be found in various states of acceptance amongst the English-speaking community. It’s pure neologism, and that’s why I like it. I understand that the language of English, as with all languages is alive, however it lends a certain credence to ones own respectability if they exercise a modicum of respect for it. Our language has become so convoluted with catchy new words that many people have forgotten how to use the ones that already exist.
I am actually not a huge grammar Nazi, and I am sure there are bound to be oodles of misspellings, grammatical errors, and other English faux pas contained within. This site is meant purely for my own amusement, and the amusement of my friends. I put effort into the site, although I am sure most of it is akin to a big pile of shit; however if you have read this far, you either don’t care, or fell into my trap.
Lastly, this site is a living creation, so it will change regularly as I hammer things out and change things I don’t like. However, the site has come a long way since it’s original inception sometime back in mid-2000, and I sincerely hope you get some use out of the site.
